Gerhard Gesell
Gerhard Alden Gesell (1910-1993) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.
Gesell was nominated by President Lyndon Johnson on November 29, 1967, to a seat vacated by Spottswood Robinson; he was confirmed by the Senate on December 7, 1967, and received commission on December 12. He assumed senior status on January 22, 1993, and passed away shortly thereafter, on February 19, 1993.
Gesell was the 1989 recipient of the Edward J. Devitt Distinguished Service to Justice Award.[1]
