Norman William Black (1931-1997) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas.
Black was nominated to the Southern District of Texas by President Jimmy Carter on February 23, 1979, to a new seat created by 92 Stat. 1629; he was confirmed by the Senate on May 10, 1979, and received commission the next day. From 1992-1996, he served as the chief judge. He assumed senior status on December 6, 1996. He served the Southern District of Texas until his death on July 23, 1997.[1]
