Hugh Gibson (1918-1998) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas.

Gibson was nominated to the Southern District of Texas by President Jimmy Carter on July 31, 1979, to a seat vacated by Finis Cowan; he was confirmed by the Senate on October 4, 1979, and received commission the next day. He assumed senior status on November 1, 1989. He served the Southern District of Texas until his death on June 18, 1998.[1] Gibson was succeeded in this position by Samuel Kent.
